First-Time Jury Duty Tips: Straight from the Eagle Mom’s Group
Straight from the Gavel-Wielding Mamas of Eagle Mom’s Group
Our top contributor, the fabulous Allison Leigh Weber, had to report for jury duty. Talk about a break in the mom-ing routine. But fear not; she sailed through, thanks to practical tips dished out by the incredible ladies in our community.
So grab your coffee, and let’s dive into the juror journey in Ada County. Feeling a tad clueless about parking, like any good mama-bear would, she turned to our lovely community for advice.Feeling a tad clueless about parking, like any good mama-bear would, she turned to our lovely community for advice.
Parking

Store those Google Maps, ladies—our swift-thinking Tanus Reid dove in with the first handy hint: decent parking can be found in the main lot or the garage nearby. Elizabeth Silvas-Kennedy swooped in with a crucial caution—parking validation counts only for that lot or garage, just like Jordan Binder and Whitney Chisum confirmed. So, to save precious pennies, remember to get that parking validated inside!
Beating the Clock and Traffic
Ever-resourceful Tamara Teal-Engleman advised Allison to remember the not-so-speedy security checks and shared her own tale of it taking 30 minutes from Avimor. Liz stepped in with the wisdom of giving yourself a 45-minute buffer for that pesky traffic. But wait! Tessa Osborne, our experienced jury duty pro, had another tidbit: early risers snag prime parking spots right in front of the building.
Avoiding Hangry Courtroom Disasters
Who feels like a wilting flower on an empty stomach? Just in time, Jordan Binder saved Allison with the tip to avoid packing snacks in glass containers—security won’t let them pass! Liz chimed in with the sweet reminder of a vending machine on the first floor for those emergency cravings.
All Rise
And the day finally came. once you’ve made it safe and sound (and punctual!) to fulfill your civic duty. What awaits you? A well-stocked snack area—drinks, fruit, and more!
