Not at all! My daughter enjoyed the engineering but isn’t necessarily focused on it. They have it as one of there specials for the younger grades and teach them different programming programs and have all sorts of robots they learn how to use based on grade level. She also learned how to design and print things on a 3d printer. In MS, engineering was one of her daily classes. After 6th grade, it is an elective option – Local Mom Expert Sara Weak.
it’s hard to get into for elementary but definitely apply once you get an address! – Local Mom Expert Sara Weak.
My recommended track of academic focus schools are: Andrus (they have full time or pull-out Gifted programs), North Star, Galileo or Challenger for elementary schools choices.
ANDRUS is the primary boundary school for the housing area I mentioned and NS and Galileo are based on lottery while Challenger is a private school. When kids are on fourth grade, they can prepare a test for getting into Treasure Valley Math & Science Center (TVMSC) in Boise School district and it only takes 10-15 min to drive there from Eagle area and you can carpool with other Eagle moms. It is a highly advanced STEM school only provides half day school so kids can still have half day in Eagle Middle School for rest of the school day.
Eagle Middle School has a gifted program too so kids can have GT ELA and World Civilization classes at EMS.

My kids go to Galileo STEM school. It’s our 2nd year and my kids absolutely love it. All the teachers are amazing! The lottery is Feb 9, 2023. Lynda Nelson Domingos
Eagle is a bit out of the way and it’s a drive to some things . My daughter swims 6 days a week and it can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to get to the pool. Not bad but just a thought as you are looking at areas. Good luck with your move and let me know if you have any questions.
